Description
Zdenek Fibich (1850 – 1900) is a Bohemian composer, who is revered in his homeland but almost forgotten outside it. Alongside Dvorak and Smetana, he is one of the most important Czech composers; unfortunately, he has not achieved the status of these two fellow countrymen abroad. As a successful exception, his little piano piece “Poème” should be mentioned here, which is available and performed in all possible arrangements.
SELANKA was originally composed for clarinet and piano in 1879 (later also for violin and piano). In this pastoral piece, the soloist can showcase his musicality and his technical mastery of the instrument.
