Description
Transformation from Arirang, for 2 Marimbas is a piece that uses Korean folk songs with the theme and variation in contemporary composition techniques but not in the 19th-century ideal. The idea is to explore the new territories of mallet expression. Cause the main maternal is Eastern idea, the other factors are not the modern Asian vocabulary. In this piece, I try to present the new marimba duet option. We seldom use many mallet techniques in the piece but I believe this will bring a new sound to mallet art music.
