Twan Swagten, (2000) is a Dutch composer. He received his first recognition when his piece ‘Waan’ was performed on the occasion of the gala concert from Fanfare Orchestra Eensgezindheid Maasbracht-Beek conducted by Jos Zegers. He received an invitation for an interview with the local radio broadcaster L1 and there was also an article written about Waan in the Dutch magazine Klankwijzer.
In 2019, Twan won the composition prize of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague and the second prize at Ricciotti’s Arranging Competition.
Twan obtained his Bachelor's degree in Musicology in 2023 from Utrecht University, graduating with a thesis on musical riddles in the music of Erik Satie. He is currently pursuing a master's program in Applied Musicology at the same institution.
